OA-Reloyd — Technical Lettering Revival

OA-รีลอยด์ — ระบบตัวพิมพ์จากลายมือเขียนแบบ

A Thai and Latin typeface built from an existing Leroy-style technical lettering original. Traced as vector reference, then rebuilt as outlines by script so that every glyph is regenerable rather than hand-patched.

OA-Reloyd — Technical Lettering Revival

A revival with a build system

Reviving a lettering original usually means tracing it and cleaning up by hand. That produces a font, but not a system: the next weight, the next script extension, or a correction to a shared stroke all mean going back through the glyphs one at a time.

OA-Reloyd is built the other way round. The original is traced only as reference geometry. The shipping outlines are generated by script through fontTools and ufo2ft, so a change to a shared stroke propagates across every glyph that uses it, and every specimen sheet is regenerated from the same build.

The result is reproducible: version 1.2 of the specimen is provably version 1.2 of the binary, because one produced the other.

Credit

The lettering original is by Pichet Chaiwan, credited inside the font files by agreement. The digitisation, outline engineering and specimen are the work shown here.
